100% Grass-fed lamb ground in small batches from Katahdin, Dorper Sheep raised in open pastures on our farm. Compared to Australian lamb, the most common variety found in the supermarket, our Hudson Valley grass-fed lamb tastes less gamey, a little sweeter, and has a smoother texture. Most lamb meat sold in the U.S. comes from Australia, even though American lambs produce a sweeter, less gamey flavor. Despite tasting better than the imported stuff American lamb is scarce because of low demand. Larger U.S. farmers simply don’t find raising lamb profitable.
But we’re a small farm. Karl Family Farms provides delicious, wholesomely raised lamb meat to the people want it without having to worry about filling large orders.
